十大彩票网投平台 化学系 is partnering with the Exploreum Science Center in Mobile to help elementary and middle school students understand that science, technology, engineering and math skills are not only in demand, but can also be fun.

 “This partnership provides an outreach and marketing opportunity for USA and the 化学系 — it gets us in front of the kids and their parents,” said Dr. Jason Coym, associate professor and 化学系 chair. 它还提供了 resources and expertise in chemistry to the Exploreum, so it's a win-win for everyone.”

The initial event took place the Saturday before Halloween with the theme of “Spooky 化学.” 南’s chemistry faculty members and undergraduate students from the American Chemical Society-Student Affiliate group lead the demonstrations.

“We had a lab full of people, of all ages, eager to see the 化学系’s Halloween demonstrations,” said Savannah Holland, Exploreum director of education. “It was a beautiful Saturday filled with exciting science demonstrations, Halloween costumes and lots of hands-on STEM activities.”

The next event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18、在探索馆.

“We are optimistic that we will see lots of visitors as a kick-off weekend to Thanksgiving break for our local schools,” she said. “The Exploreum looks forward to continuing our relationship with 南 to support curiosity, learning and community along the 墨西哥湾沿岸.”
